About the Speakers
Dr. Kevin Horton, Director
Institute for Biblical Authority
Dr. Horton holds a bachelor's degree in biology from Dickinson State College in Dickinson, North Dakota. He earned a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa and a Master of Divinity from Moody Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Horton practiced veterinary medicine on both large and small animals in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana for 20 years. During the last five years of veterinary practice, he answered God's call to church leadership and began reducing his veterinary practice. Over the years he established two churches in the Valley. He served Crossroads Christian Fellowship of Victor, MT as senior pastor for 21 years. He began full-time as director of IBA in the spring of 2018. Dr. Horton has a passion to see God's Word correctly understood and that begins in Genesis. Many Christians compromise on the clear interpretation of the first 11 chapters because of the apparent contradiction between “science” and the Bible. Dr. Horton has observed that the incompatibility between these two world views is not science and the Bible. Rather he observes that an atheistic philosophy has been ruthlessly forced upon much of modern scientific interpretation leading to a façade that science rules over the Bible. In stark contrast, Dr. Horton desires to show how scientific observations and data strongly support a solid biblical worldview with no need to compromise on Biblical interpretation.
Michael J. Oard
Author
After two years in the U.S. Navy, Michael Oard earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in atmospheric science from the University of Washington. He was a research meteorologist for six years at the University of Washington and has published several research articles in journals and technical monographs of the American Meteorological Society. Mr. Oard later joined the National Weather Service as a weather forecaster. He retired in 2001 after 30 years of service and does full time research, writing, and speaking in creationist earth science.
After becoming a creationist in the mid-1970s, Michael realized there was a lot of research needed in the earth sciences. To fill this gap, he has since spent almost 40 years studying geology, geophysics, glaciology, and paleoclimatology. Mr. Oard has published about 200 articles in the creationist in-depth literature, especially the Journal of Creation and the Creation Research Society Quarterly. He has also authored, coauthored, or been editor of seventeen creationist books on the Flood, the Ice Age, weather, dinosaurs, and geology. He is on the board of the Creation Research Society and is an adjunct speaker for Creation Ministries International.
Michael is married to Beverly, and they have four grown children with ten grandchildren. Michael and Beverly live in Bozeman, Montana, USA.
Mike Mueller, President
Institute for Biblical Authority
Mike Mueller earned a B.S. and M.S. in Biology Education and Natural Resource/Wildlife Management attending Kansas University and Pittsburg State University. In the early days Mike worked as an educator, naturalist and Park Ranger. Mike has spent the last 33 years working for a conservation/land trust nonprofit organization doing public and private land conservation and management work across the West. Mike has published in scientific and popular periodicals. Mike attends Mission Bible Fellowship Church in Seeley Lake and Crosspoint church in Missoula and favorite scripture is Romans 1:20. Mike is also a co-founder and Board member of the non-profit Institute for Biblical Authority based out of Hamilton, MT which hosts creation science events in the west and provides outreach through IBA777.org. Mike enjoys spending time with his family, four grandsons, the family cabin, hunting, traveling, studying nature, and sports.
Pat Roy, Co-founder
The Genesis Experience
Pat Roy is the co-founder of the Genesis Experience and the co-creator of the Jonathan Park audio adventures. Roy served as Director of Broadcast Media for the Institute for Creation Research, Director at Genesis Apologetics, and Director at the Mount St. Helens Creation Center. He is the co-host of Awesome Science Labs, the Director of Creation Quest, and a youth speaker.
The Genesis Experience presents the creation message in an out-of-the-box way that has never been done before. With humor and thought-provoking content presented in such a way that the audience never knows what’s coming next.
